The Andhra Pradesh State Disaster Department authority had received two distress calls after the Odisha train accident. One call was from Andhra Pradesh and the other from Telangana. Ambedkar told news agency PTI that two phone calls were received in search of two people from Kadapa in Andhra Pradesh and Khammam in Telangana. The family members of Syed Abdul Bhasa, a resident of Cuddapah, had called to inquire about his whereabouts. They are safe, the family has been informed about it. He is currently at his home in Hyderabad.

The second call was to inquire about Ambati Ramulu (55 years), a resident of Khammam in neighboring Telangana, who works as a watchman at Chaitanya Apartments in Vijayawada.

Ambedkar told that Ramulu’s daughter had told that her father’s mental health was not good. That’s why he was going to visit some goddess in Kolkata. I have a feeling that Papa must have boarded one of the Coromandel Express and Bangalore-Howrah Superfast. However, there is no clear information about this.

BR Ambedkar pointed out that Ramulu’s name did not figure in the list of reserved passengers. At the same time, he could not be traced even at Chaitanya’s apartment in Vijayawada. After this, the Andhra Pradesh Police informed the Khammam Police. The family has sent Ramulu’s photo on WhatsApp to the disaster department. Search for him is going on.
