A photo of this accident is going viral. In this, a building is visible at some distance from the place of the train accident. It is being claimed that this is a mosque. This accident happened on Jumma (Friday) at a short distance from where.

Dr. Sulakshya Singh Prajapati, a verified user also gave a communal color to the incident and claimed that the station master was a Muslim man. He wrote – CBI has entered in the Odisha train accident. This means that in the first investigation, the government has suspected conspiracy, otherwise why CBI?? Station Master Sharif Khan is also absconding.

At the beginning of the investigation, we checked the photographs of the Odisha train accident. During this, we saw the structure of a temple, not a mosque, near the accident site in many photographs.

To confirm this matter, we contacted Bhaskar correspondent who reached the ground reporting of Balasore train accident. They told us that the building seen in the photo is not a mosque but a temple. This is Bahanaga ISKCON Temple. The train accident took place in front of this temple on the evening of 2 June.

During investigation, we found 2 tweets related to this matter on the official Twitter account of Odisha Police. Tweeting, the Odisha Police refuted the claim being made with the viral photo. He wrote – It has come to be seen that some social media handles are mischievously giving communal color to the painful train accident in Balasore. This is very unfortunate.

Odisha Police further wrote – GRP, Odisha is investigating the cause of the accident and all other aspects. We appeal to all not to share such false and malicious posts. Strict legal action will be taken against those who try to disturb communal harmony by spreading rumours.

We further investigated the claim of the station master being a Muslim. During this we came across a news on a news website named Kalinga TV. It has been claimed in this news that the station master had fled after the accident. At the same time, now they are being questioned. It is to be noted that the station master’s name is not Sharif Khan but SB Mohante. (of news Link,
