A bus and a trolley collided head-on on Wednesday night at around 3.30 pm on the Maxi-Ujjain road in Shajapur. Three passengers died on the spot in the accident. Whereas, a mother-daughter died in the hospital. 13 injured have been taken to Ujjain. It is being told that the driver was joking with a girl sitting in a cabin. Meanwhile, he lost control of the bus and the accident happened.

The bus was going from Madhavgarh (Jalaun, Uttar Pradesh) to Ahmedabad. The deceased were residents of UP. Among those who lost their lives on the spot, two women belonged to the same family. Both were going to Ahmedabad in Gujarat to attend the wedding. Both were sitting on the front seat of the bus.

SI Dipesh Vyas of Maksi police station said that there was a head-on collision between a bus and a trolley coming from Ujjain near Dongta. Ram Janaki’s husband Parmatma Sharan and Meera Bai’s husband Ganesh Prasad Prajapati and one male died on the spot. Sumitra Devi (35) and Radha (12) both mother and daughter died in the hospital. A case has been registered against the driver of the trolley and he has been arrested. The dead bodies have been sent to Shajapur district hospital. 60 to 62 passengers were traveling, whose names we have come to know. The force of Tarana, Kayatha and Maksi had reached the spot as soon as the accident was known.

Maksi police station in-charge Gopal Singh Chauhan told that the information about the accident was received at around 5 am. When reached the spot, the bus UP 75 AT 4799 of Sharda Travels was rammed into the trolley. The front part of the bus was completely damaged. Some of the injured were lying outside on the road, while most were inside the bus. Some passengers were taking them out, while some were packing their luggage.

Suddenly there was a jolt and fainted.

Ganesh Prajapati, a resident of Gora-Bhupka district Jalaun, Uttar Pradesh told that we had the number one seat. My wife and brother’s daughter-in-law were sitting on one seat and me and brother were sitting separately on the other side seat. Suddenly there was a loud jolt. Before I knew it, I fell outside and fainted. I came to my senses when the people of the village who were traveling in the bus poured water on me. Brother was lying bleeding in front of him. An ambulance took her away. Daughter-in-law and wife were lying injured on the side. Seeing this, I fainted again. The policemen picked him up after pouring water on him again.

Sumitra Devi and Radha were mother-daughter. Both have died in the accident.

The family was going to Ahmedabad to attend the wedding

Station in-charge said that among the dead are three women including Ram Janaki, Meera. Of these, the Prajapati family, a resident of Gora Bhupka in Uttar Pradesh, was going to Ahmedabad to attend a wedding ceremony. Preliminary investigation revealed that the bus driver had dozed off. Due to this he could not control the bus and the accident happened.

The trolley was coming from Ujjain. The bus coming from the front went uncontrolled and collided with the trolley.

Sister died due to negligence of bus driver

Passenger Himanshu told that I had boarded the bus with my parents and sister from Madhaugarh in Uttar Pradesh. We all were going to Ahmedabad. There must have been 60 to 70 people in the bus. The driver was driving the bus very fast. It was night time, so everyone was sleeping. Suddenly there was a jolt when I opened my eyes and saw that the bus had collided with a trolley. There was darkness in front of the eyes. When I looked nearby, my parents and sister were lying bleeding. Along with the parents, the sister was badly trapped in the middle of the seat. Somehow they were taken out and brought to Ujjain Hospital, where the 12-year-old younger sister was declared brought dead. Both the legs of mother and father are badly injured. Mother’s leg was almost broken. My sister died due to the negligence of the bus driver.

SP said – the driver of the trolley was arrested

After this accident, Shajapur Collector Kishore Kumar Kanyal and SP Yashpal Singh Rajput reached the spot. Both the officers tried to know the collision between the bus and the trolley. SP Yashpal Singh Rajput told that prima facie the fault of the driver of the trolley is coming to the fore. Driver Dhanjay Kumar is a resident of Giridih Jharkhand. He has been arrested. He was booked for recklessly hitting the bus at high speed.

Passenger Manvendra told that I had got a job for the first time. With great enthusiasm was going to Ahmedabad with his uncle’s son and nephew. Was supposed to arrive on Thursday. I have to join a job in a factory from Friday, but before that an accident happened. I was awake at night. I saw that the bus driver was driving very fast. Before Maxi, he had made a girl from Dhaba sit in his cabin. The driver was joking with the girl while driving. In such a situation, his attention got distracted and the bus collided with the trolley. At the same time, the driver jokingly told the girl that many passengers sit in the cabin like this.
