एक मौत से मिला हजारों जिंदगियां बचाने का आइडिया: मोबाइल बताएगा- पेट में पल रहा बच्चा कैसा है, न विकलांग होगा और न जान जाएगी

‘It is about the year 2016. I was in a hospital in Karnataka. A 29-year-old woman was about to have a child. Her husband and family members present in the hospital were very happy. The family members were celebrating the pregnancy of the woman and the little guest coming to their house, but in a few moments this happiness turned into sorrow. The woman had a still birth delivery.

A baby born in a stillbirth delivery does not have a heartbeat. He is born dead. The baby can be due anytime from 20 weeks to 35 weeks. When I talked to the doctor treating the woman, I was even more surprised. Even the doctor had not the slightest sense of this. The doctor had told that the movement of the fetus could not be detected even in the sonography.

‘During a visit to another hospital, I saw that a newborn child was not in his hands. Even in this, the doctor could not get any report earlier. If the disease of the child was known before birth, then necessary nutrients could have been given to the child through the mother. Had it been so, the child would not have been born handicapped.

These are just two stories. Arun Agarwal, a 33-year-old resident of Alwar, Rajasthan, felt similar pain of mother and children for six years. He visited many hospitals. Spent hours in the wards in hospitals. During this the idea came whether they could save the mother and child by making a device. How can children be prevented from becoming handicapped?

For this he has made a sensor mobile device ‘Janitri’. This device was such that it could easily save lives. This device monitors the mother and the child growing in the womb. Along with this, all the medical reports are sent to the doctor through mobile. With this, the doctors can see the information related to the mother and child immediately, if there is something wrong, then they can treat it before the situation worsens.

Lives of two thousand pregnant women were saved
Arun claims that the lives of more than 2 thousand pregnant women have been saved through this device. The judges of the reality show Shark Tank India were so impressed with the device making project that they vied with each other to invest. Finally, his deal was finalized with Namita Thapar, executive director of Emcure Pharma, for Rs 1 crore on 2.5 per cent equity.

30 children die in 1 thousand
Do you know that even today 97 out of one lakh women in India die during childbirth or pregnancy. Not only this, 30 out of 1,000 children die during or after birth.

Of these, 80 percent can be saved, with a little more monitoring of the pregnant woman and the child in the last trimester of pregnancy, and that too at five times less cost. Arun Agarwal’s sensor mobile device ‘Janitri’ has been made, through which these lives can be easily saved.

Before making this device, Arun did research in hospitals for about 6 years and spent his time there.

Treatment is possible even without visiting a doctor
Janitri gives information through mobile app. A belt fitted with 5-6 sensors is placed on the mother’s abdomen. This belt is connected to the tablet or mobile via USB and Bluetooth. Now these sensors do their work and start preparing reports of all the parameters related to the health of mother and child.

These reports can be accessed at any point of time in any corner of the world through different login ID and password. With the help of this, doctors can immediately see and treat every problem of the mother and the unborn child. The special thing is that it is not even necessary to physically reach the patient.

Through this device, doctors can monitor both mother and child at all times.

Expenses also only 29 thousand
Arun said that fetal monitoring is not new in mother-child healthcare in the world, but he claims that ‘Janitri’ is the cheapest and most affordable device.

At present, other such devices in the market cost from Rs 1.5 to Rs 2 lakh, but this device is available for Rs 29,000 only, whereas the subscription for its software is Rs 10,000 annually.

Last year, this business of his had sold more than one crore rupees. At the same time, this year the sale of 4 crores has almost become final. According to Arun, there is a possibility of selling at least 20 crores next year.

Arun told that till now we have been importing big machines from developed countries. We have given the complete power of this technology and monitoring in one mobile. It is also not difficult to operate it. From nurse to doctor, they can operate it and generate reports whenever they want.

This device is sensor based. Doctors can sit in any corner of the world and monitor the patient all the time.

You will get immediate treatment through the app and save your life
Arun told that through this device there will be a lot of reduction in mother-baby miss happening. Treatment will be quick as soon as the complication is detected.

Presently he is doing his work from Bangalore. More than 50 hospitals across the country and more than 50 thousand women have used or are using their device.

Now in the coming days, their target is that their devices should reach every village along with the cities as soon as possible.

For this, they are also building a marketing team and also bringing in new distributors.

Till now Arun has saved 2000 lives through this device. It is claimed that this device of theirs is the cheapest.

The device was so loved that the judges clashed
In ‘Shark Tank India Season 2’, the judges liked Arun’s device so much that the judges of the show clashed with each other while finalizing the deal.

Regarding this, Arun said- Even before going to the show, I knew that the judge of the show, Namita Thapar, would definitely be interested in his idea and startup.

Finally, the deal was also finalized for Rs 1 crore on 2.5% equity. Now, why the other judges of the show, Piyush and Amit had a fight with him during this period, I have nothing to do with it.

When Arun told about his product in Shork Tank, the judges were also impressed. Namita Thapar deals with him.

Thapar said – I am the queen of this category, Piyush Bansal and Amit Jain also wanted to invest
On hearing about Janitri device, the judge of the show Namita Thapar immediately agreed to invest and said – this is my deal, because I am the queen of this category.

After this, other judges Piyush Bansal and Amit Jain also expressed their desire to invest in it together. Piyush tells Namita that she can join him in a joint deal as well, but Namita refuses to do a joint deal.

Piyush and Amit were also ready to accept every condition of Arun, but Namita Thapar immediately offered Arun a bigger deal than both of them.

Started robot education while studying in college

Arun told that his grandfather had a business and father was a government employee in the post office. He studied till twelfth standard in Alwar. After this went to Kota for engineering preparation.

In the year 2011 itself, he got admission in B.Tech in VIT College, Bangalore. Here in the first year, he participated in the Robot Competition and won many awards.

In the second year itself, he along with two of his friends formed a startup of robot making education. Together, all three used to train school and college students to make robots.

Arun told that he is keeping a target of Rs 5 to 6 crores till next year. The judges of the show Shork Tank agreed to double the offer.

Earlier worked as an analyst in Gurgaon, left after 2 years
After this Arun completed MTech from VIT itself. Soon after, he joined a Gurgaon company as a patent analyst for financial survival. There he worked for 2 years.

Ever since his post graduation, he wanted to build a startup that would make an impact through technology in healthcare. It was not possible to do this with the job. In the end he left this job.
