The season of weddings had started from Akshaya Tritiya. This time there was a lot of fanfare for Savo. Friday 5th May is also the day of Buddha Purnima and there is pomp and show on this day too. Many invitations are also being received in the season of weddings.
In such a situation, a wedding invitation came. It was written on this card Peepal Ro Byav (People’s wedding). When I saw this card, I came to know that a family is getting Peepal married to Thakur ji of the village. But, what was the reason and story behind it was not known.
When I called the number given on the card, I came to know that this marriage is happening in Salasar Nagar of Ketu village, 90 km from Jodhpur. The people of the village told on the phone that preparations are being made with pomp for the marriage. And, Peepal will be married off like a daughter.
After this the team reached Ketu village of Jodhpur. Here women were seen singing songs, who were standing outside a house. On being asked, he told that tomorrow there is a big wedding in the village and the people of the village are being invited for the same.
It came to know here that this marriage is being conducted by the Lalaram Kularia family of the village. The special thing is that his relatives from Hyderabad have also reached here to attend this ceremony.

Me and my family live in Saraswati Nagar of Jodhpur city. We have a house there too. In the year 2017, both peepal and peepli had grown in the pot kept outside our Jodhpur house. After some time when the plants grew, the family started getting worried. Because it is not considered good to have a Peepal tree in the house. And, could not even remove it because doing so is also a sin.
In such a situation, the idea came that why these two trees should be taken to the village. On this, the family members brought these trees to the village and they were re-planted here according to the rules and regulations. The family in the village also took care of them. They were watered daily during worship.
In such a situation, there was an attachment with him like a family member. When Peepal and Peepli started growing up, someone told that there is a law for the marriage of Peepal tree. But, Peepli was also there in our house. When we kept it like a family, it was noticed that how a daughter can remain a virgin in the house.
The marriage of these two Peepal trees is to take place today. She was planted in the village with law and order and now there will be a farewell like a daughter.
The horoscope was introduced to the village pandit
During this, talked to the family members and decided that like a daughter, we will get Peepli married and her farewell will also happen. In such a situation, along with the people and family of the village, it was decided that she would be married to Virajit Thakur ji in a temple built three kilometers away from the village.
The village pandit only matched their horoscopes and the auspicious time for marriage was taken on the day of Buddha Purnima. Now the whole village and family members have gathered in this event.

The family says that Peepal is the form of Thakur ji. That’s why the procession of Thakur ji will go from this 400 year old temple which is 3 km away from the village.
The procession will come from 3 kilometers away
Actually, Peepal is considered as the form of Thakur. These two trees are side by side. That’s why Thakurji’s procession will come from the temple 3 kilometers away for the wedding in the village. This temple is about 400 years old.
People from the Vaishnav and Brahmin families of the village will participate in this. From here, the procession will reach Ketu Salasar Nagar with the tune of drums and drums. The villagers of the village will welcome the procession with flower showers.
After this the procession will be stopped. Peepal and Peepli will be married at 6:30 in the evening. In this, Lalaram and his wife Devi will do Kanyadan. And the next day, on Saturday, May 6, Prasadi for 500 people will be organized.

Invitation was also given to the in-laws of sisters and daughters
The sisters and daughters of the family were invited to their in-laws’ house for the marriage ceremony. For this marriage, 3 daughters of Lalaram and other daughters of the family have also reached Pihar from their in-laws’ house. Here women are inviting Thakurji to come to the wedding by singing auspicious songs daily. The turmeric of Peepal tree is being beaten. Mehendi is being applied.
Chanwari has been prepared near the house regarding marriage, where Thakur ji’s rounds will be made. Attractive decorations are being done on lacquer in the house too. Tents have been set up for the guests coming to the wedding.
The mandap has been decorated near both the trees. This is where all the wedding rituals will be performed.
Family members also arrived from Hyderabad
Family members living outside Rajasthan have also reached to participate in the programme. Arjun Suthar told that he was very keen about this marriage and has come from Hyderabad to participate in the marriage related to our culture and heritage. More than 10 family members working in other cities have also reached with them.
Food for 500 people, farewell on Saturday
Lalaram told that the farewell of Thakur ji’s procession would be on Saturday. Cupboard, bed including utensils and other household items will be given in dowry. Along with this, gold and silver jewelery will also be given after a silver cow.
On the day of the procession, only the baraatis will have food. But, the whole village has been invited for the meeting the next day. About 500 people will participate in it. Prasad will be arranged for all of them.
Invitation cards are also being sent to people for this wedding ceremony. There will also be Prasad for the people coming to the function.

The family members have also prepared a banquet menu for this unique wedding. The guests attending the wedding are also looking forward to this unique event.
Preparations for this ceremony have already started in the village. Women are participating in this by singing auspicious songs daily.
The members of the Kularia family told that special importance has been given to trees and plants in our religion and in view of the present times, it is very important to protect the environment.
Lalaram has 3 sons. Elder son Kanhaiyalal works in construction. Whereas, Prakash is pursuing interior design and Gopal is pursuing CA. Lalaram himself runs a petrol pump in the village.
