Protests are taking place in many parts of the country regarding Shah Rukh Khan-Deepika Padukone’s film Pathan. Meanwhile, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma tweeted that Shah Rukh Khan called me at 2 pm on Saturday-Sunday. He was worried about the screening of Pathan to be held at Narengi Hall in Guwahati. I assured them that it is the duty of the state government to maintain law and order. We will ensure that there is no controversy during the screening of the film.
CM Sarma refused to watch the film Pathan
Earlier on Saturday, during a press conference in Guwahati, the Assam CM refused to watch Shahrukh’s film Pathan. In response to a question here, he even said – Who is Shahrukh Khan? I don’t know anything about him or the film. Shahrukh has not called me, but if he calls, I will look into the matter. Pathan, directed by Siddharth Anand, will release on January 25.
On January 20, a cinema hall in Narengi, Guwahati was vandalized by Bajrang Dal activists. During this, posters of Shah Rukh Khan were burnt. Pathan will be screened on January 25 in the same hall.

CM Sarma said – people should watch Assamese film
When media persons told him that Shah Rukh Khan is Bollywood superstar, Sarma said that the people of the state should be worried about Assamese films and not Hindi films. He said that the Assamese film ‘Dr. Bezbarua – Part 2’ will be releasing soon. People should see it.
Why is there controversy?
Deepika Padukone dons a saffron bikini in Pathan’s song ‘Besharam Rang’. Opponents say that saffron color is a symbol of Hinduism and Deepika is wearing this color and dancing on a song with lyrics of Besharam, which is quite objectionable. Use of holy color like saffron for bikini will not be accepted. Regarding this, Vishwa Hindu Parishad and other Hindu organizations have demanded a ban on the film.
