Soon after the complaint, the Delhi Police team reached Owaisi’s 36 Ashoka Road house for investigation.
Stones were pelted at the house of All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) National President and MP Asaduddin Owaisi in Delhi. The incident took place on Sunday evening around 5.30 pm. Then Owaisi was in Jaipur. The people working in this house at 36 Ashoka Road informed him about the incident.
Owais lodged a complaint with the Parliament Street Police Station. In which it is alleged that the miscreants threw stones at his house and broke the glass windows. Owaisi has shared two videos on Twitter.
Owaisi said – it is a matter of concern that this should happen in the high security zone
Owaisi tweeted videos of the attack late at 1 am. In which he wrote- “My Delhi house has been attacked again. This is the fourth incident after 2014. Earlier when I returned from Jaipur and my domestic help told me that a bunch of miscreants pelted stones, which broke the windows. Delhi Police should arrest them immediately.”
In another video, he wrote- “It is worrying that this has happened in a high security zone. I have given a complaint to the police and they have reached my house to investigate.”
Earlier Owaisi was attacked in UP as well.
This is not the first time that Owaisi has been attacked. Owaisi was fired upon near the toll plaza in Hapur on February 3 during the UP assembly elections 2022. Owaisi was returning to Delhi after campaigning in Meerut’s Kithore assembly constituency.
The attackers Sachin Sharma and Shubham Gurjar fired four rounds. Due to two bullets, there was a hole in the lower part of Owaisi’s car. Owaisi had a narrow escape.
Both the attackers were granted bail by the Allahabad High Court. Owaisi had also filed a petition against this in the Supreme Court.
