The special thing is that in this, the police took training to control the crowd with less lethal weapons like sticks, tear gas.

It is noteworthy that in the past, the police had to fight with Nihang gangs and Sikh radical groups at Ajnala in Amritsar and Chandigarh border. Somewhere the Palki Sahib was attacked from the front with sharp weapons and the police suffered losses and had to retreat. After which the DGP Punjab had talked about making changes in the police for such incidents.

In this training, training was given on how to repel and disperse the raging mob without causing much harm. Policemen were also told about how to use tear gas during this period. Along with stopping stones and other attacks with the help of its armor, training was also given to use sticks.

Gatka training was done in Muktsar Sahib
Earlier, the Punjab Police started Gatke training to its jawans at Sri Muktsar Sahib. In the two major incidents that took place in the past, Nihang gangs were involved and the police were attacked with sharp weapons. In which 6 policemen including one SP were seriously injured. After which the Punjab Police is also being given training in Gatke, so that it can be defended in the midst of an aggressive attack.
