Cyclone Biparjoy coming in the Arabian Sea is expected to become more dangerous in the next 24 hours. The Indian Meteorological Department said on Saturday that it is moving north-northeastwards in the Arabian Sea.

Due to this, IMD has issued an alert of heavy rain with strong winds in Karnataka, Goa and Maharashtra. Apart from this, fishermen have been prohibited from venturing into the sea in Gujarat, Kerala, Karnataka and Lakshadweep. Tithal beach in Gujarat’s Valsad has been closed till June 14.

The center of the storm is 640 km away from Porbandar in Gujarat.
The Meteorological Department said that at present the Biparjoy storm is centered 640 km south-southwest of Porbandar in Gujarat. The storm is likely to reach South Gujarat by Monday. Due to this, fishermen were asked to return to the coast and all ports were instructed to send distant warning signals.

Surat collector told the media that we are on alert mode and all officers have been instructed not to leave the headquarters. State Disaster Response Force teams have been put on standby mode and people in coastal villages have been alerted. If needed, they will be shifted to safer places.

Winds can run at a speed of 100 km / h for the next three days
Manorama Mohanty, director of the Meteorological Center of Ahmedabad, said that due to the storm, the wind can move at a speed of 80 to 100 km per hour on June 10, 11 and 12. The wind can also catch a speed of 120 kmph. During this, there is a possibility of light rain and thunderstorm in the coastal areas of Gujarat and Saurashtra.
