Craig Ervine’s Zimbabwe took a big step towards their ODI World Cup 2023 dreams as they defeated two-time world champions West Indies in their Group A encounter of the ODI World Cup Qualifier 2023. The day’s two group games saw fans confirm all three teams from Group A through to the Super Six stage. While Zimbabwe defeated the West Indies, the Netherlands booked their place in the last six with a comfortable win over Nepal, along with the West Indies. However, it is Zimbabwe who are the eventual winners of the group, even if they do not finish first as they have defeated both the Windies and the Dutch and will take four points into the Super Sixes.

This will give them the advantage of reaching the main draw of the World Cup as either Windies or Netherlands will have two points from this group.
