Zendaya and Tom Holland were told not to date by ‘Spider-Man No Way Home’ producers

Aside from being part of a worldwide-loved franchise and reckoning in Moolah, all of Spider-Man’s films have a common element that many might not be aware of. The movies have their respective lead couples dating each other during filming.

Tom Holland and Zendaya’s reel live chemistry has also culminated in a real-life romance and the couple hasn’t made much effort to hide it. This became apparent when a picture of them kissing in a car in July this year went viral. However, Spider-Man producer Amy Pascal advised him against it.

Amy told the New York Times that being aware of past Peter Parkers falling for his leading lady, she told Tom and Zendaya to refrain from dating. She said that she took him aside during the shooting of the first film and asked him to ‘not go there’. However, love blossoms unexpectedly, and Amy’s request is eventually unheeded.

Amy also said that the previous lead pair Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone, to whom she gave the same advice, also ignored her.

Tobey Maguire and Kirsten Dunst, stars of the first Spiderman trilogy directed by Sam Raimi, began dating during the making of the first film. Their relationship was further boosted by the famous upside down kiss they shared, which remains a standout moment in Hollywood pop culture. Although they broke up before the sequel and raised concerns with the director about whether they would be able to recreate the chemistry, the pair remained absolutely professional throughout the shoot.

Andrew and Emma started dating in 2011 before going their separate ways in 2013.

Spiderman: No Way Home, which was released on December 16, is breaking box office records and stars all three major Spiderman stars from the previous two series. Although Marvel Studios and Sony tried to keep Toby and Andrew’s involvement a secret, it was speculated by fans around the world since the films included the Multiverse concept.
