New Delhi: The 32nd match of IPL 2021 is currently being played between Punjab Kings and Rajasthan Royals at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium on Tuesday. In recent times, the Dubai pitch has been favoring the team batting first but despite this, Punjab captain KL Rahul decided to field first. However, fans were surprised that Rahul had not decided to field earlier, but when birthday boy Chris Gayle, who was celebrating his 42nd birthday, was benched for today’s game.
Punjab picked several debutants – Ishan Poren, Aiden Markram and Adil Rashid – in their playing XI against Rajasthan, while Rajasthan Royals also handed the debut cap to Evin Lewis.
Meanwhile, former India all-rounder Yuvraj Singh’s unique birthday wishes to ‘Universe Boss’ Chris Gayle on his birthday have gone viral on social media. Yuvraj posted a video on Instagram in which he can be seen ‘moonwalking’ with Punjab Kings’ explosive opener Chris Gayle.

Chris Gayle and Yuvraj once shared a dressing room together when they played together for Royal Challengers Bangalore in the IPL, Punjab Kings are currently seventh in the IPL 2021 points table with three wins out of 8 matches. In the first leg of IPL 2021, Gayle scored 178 runs in 8 matches and is expected to play a key role for his team in the UAE leg as well.
