You can now get food delivered on trains via Whatsapp, here’s how – Times of India

The quality of food on Indian Railways leaves a lot to be desired. However, passengers in trains will now be able to place online food delivery orders via WhatsApp and get it delivered to their seats. With no room for network issues and latency, passengers will be able to track their orders easily.
Jio Haptik Technologies Limited (Hapik), Zoot, and IRCTC (food delivery service) have joined hands to offer users with WhatsApp chatbot facility to help railway passengers order food online on the trains while travelling.

With this feature, users will no longer have to rely on the railway pantry – or other vendors – while travelling on the train.
How to use the feature, how it works
Powered by Haptik’s advanced Conversational Commerce capabilities, the WhatsApp chatbot feature will expand the availability of ordering food while travelling via train. Users can connect with Zoop on WhatsApp chat +91 7042062070.
This real-time service will reduce the gap between network issues that travellers often face while travelling and allow them to place orders via the WhatsApp chatbot and get food delivered to their respective seats. Users will have to use their PNR number to order food from select restaurants at planned train stations. Passengers can also drop a feedback note and reach out to the support team in case of any problem.
What modes of payment are accepted
The feature allows digital payments across services like UPI, netbanking etc. Since WhatsApp Payments is not yet enabled for businesses, the payment interface is outside the WhatsApp ecosystem. So, users can make digital payments via UPI, and netbanking among other modes.
