Yogi Adityanath distributes financial assistance of Rs 10 lakh to the family members of writers who died of COVID-19

To encourage and honor the tireless and unique contribution of journalists, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Saturday provided financial assistance to the families of journalists who lost their lives due to the coronavirus pandemic. The Chief Minister was accompanied by India TV editor-in-chief Rajat Sharma. The families of the writers were offered checks of Rs 10 lakh each.

Addressing the programme, India TV Editor-in-Chief Rajat Sharma paid tributes to those who lost their lives due to the coronavirus pandemic and expressed sympathy to the families of the deceased.

Speaking further, Rajat Sharma recalled the lockdown phase and said that people want to know what is happening.

Rajat Sharma said, “I remember the lockdown period when people were locked inside their homes and everyone was curious about the coronavirus infection. During such times, journalists went ahead and took the pandemic situation without worrying about their lives. covered.”

“There were times when people used to step out of their homes but did not follow the COVID-19 protocol. Even at such times, our journalists and camerapersons spoke to people and questioned them. Recalling the time when hospitals were full and beds were not available, Rajat Sharma said, “At a time when people feared to even step near the hospital premises, our journalists went inside several hospitals and the pandemic of the second wave reported.”

Speaking on the vaccination policy for journalists, Rajat Sharma said that he called up Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath to pressurize for vaccination of journalists.

“As NBA president, I approached UP CM Yogi Adityanath for vaccination of journalists and their families, he assured me of all help and within a few days, a vaccination drive was organized in Noida. On behalf of all the media fraternity, I thank Yogi ji, said Rajat Sharma.

The UP government said that during the second wave of the pandemic, several journalists on duty across the country got infected and lost their lives, leaving their families helpless.

COVID-19 situation in Uttar Pradesh

Meanwhile, forty-two more people tested positive for COVID-19 in Uttar Pradesh, pushing the tally to 17,08,410 on Friday, while the death toll rose to 22,756, a health bulletin said. .
