‘Yeddyurappa Running Karnataka Well’: Nadda Pulls Out Of Leadership Crisis; seer also bat for CM

Bangalore: Amid speculations of change in Karnataka, Bharatiya Janata Party national president JP Nadda denied any leadership crisis in the southern state and lauded Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa for his ‘good work’.

When asked about Yeddyurappa, BJP President JP Nadda said, “He (BS Yediyurappa) has done a good job. He is running Karnataka well. Yeddyurappa is handling things on his own. We don’t think Karnataka There is a political crisis in me.” Leadership.

His remarks came hours after the Karnataka CM said that he will take an appropriate decision, once he receives instructions from the BJP high command this evening, regarding his continuation in the post.

Yediyurappa had earlier said in response to a question in Belagavi, “I am expecting suggestions from the high command by evening, you (media) will also know what it will be. The high command will decide on it.” The party high command was expected in Delhi today.

The CM also indicated that Monday could be his last day in office. The Yeddyurappa-led government will complete its two years on July 26.

Meanwhile, prominent Lingayat saints from Karnataka advocated Yeddyurappa’s leadership, saying he should not be changed. Dingleswara Swamy of Balehosur Math said a solution should be found under Yediyurappa’s leadership. He further said that Karnataka will have to face more problems if he is removed.

The Center will have to examine at least eight MLAs and ministers to finalize the next Karnataka chief minister. But, the possible outgoing CM Yediyurappa has also kept options open while hinting about a successor.

In 2018 election, BJP being the single largest party fell short of majority to form the government and only then Congress and JDS coalition government came to power. But, within a year, there was a rift in the coalition which led to the fall of the government as 13 Congress MLAs and three JDS MLAs defected.

Exactly two years ago on July 26, 2019, BS Yediyurappa took oath as the Chief Minister after the collapse of the coalition government in Karnataka.
