Yati Narsinghanand, Others Booked for Hate Speech at Delhi’s Hindu Mahapanchayat

In two separate incidents, journalists were attacked by a right-wing mob at a Hindu Mahapanchayat event in North West Delhi’s Burari on Sunday.

In one of the events, involved newslaundry An FIR has been registered against reporter Shivangi Saxena and Raunak Bhat under IPC sections 354 (assault or criminal force with intent to outrage modesty of woman), 323 (punishment for voluntarily causing hurt).

In the second incident, two journalists were beaten up. The QuintChief correspondent of Meghnad Bose was assaulted by the mob. The police then pulled out five journalists, including the three journalists mentioned above, from the incident at around 1:30 pm. He was taken to Mukherjee Nagar police station, where he is presently giving his statement.

Besides Bose, the other journalist is Mir Faisal, who works here. Hindustan GazettePhotojournalist Mohammad Mehrban, independent journalist Arbab Ali and the fifth journalist who did not wish to be named.

According to the police, an FIR has been registered under sections 323 (punishment for voluntarily causing hurt) and 341 (punishment for wrongful restraint) of the IPC in connection with the incident.
