Last year, Kannada actor Yash unveiled the release date of the much-awaited film KGF 2, also known as KGF: Chapter 2. Chandan Superstar took to social media to make the announcement. He also hyped the film which is a sequel to 2018’s KGF. The director of the film Prashant Neel is returning in the second part. He has also written the script.
The film is currently scheduled to release in April this year. However, the ongoing pandemic across the country and the recent spurt in COVID-19 cases has forced theaters to shut down once again, even as uncertainty over the release of several big-budget films, including KGF 2. The cloud is rolling. Even though there is still time for the film’s release, Yash admits that he is “fed of it yet we are all optimistic”.
Yash told Hindustan Times, “Not just the cinema industry but many people are going through a bad phase… there is no stability in their income, as well as psychological pressure.”
Yash, who was last seen in KGF: Chapter 1 in 2018, adds, “We are equally excited to present the film to our fans as we know what we have made. I know people will like it. It’s like you are a cook and everything is ready and you know people are hungry but there is some process that you need to complete. It’s taking time.”
Bollywood actor Sanjay Dutt will make his sandalwood debut in KGF Chapter 2. Dutt will play the role of the villain, Adheera.
KGF 2 will release in multiple languages including Kannada, Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam and Hindi. Produced by Vijay Kiragandur of Hombale Films, the film also stars Srini.
