But for now, he silenced his critics with an excellent Vijay Hazare Trophy, where he scored 827 runs, and then in IPL 2021, where he also put up a solid performance. Once again all eyes will be on him as he is going to play in the ODI series against Sri Lanka.
“I hope Prithvi will come (in the Sri Lanka series), after analyzing what his strengths are in his game. I would also hope that he survives for the day, thinks neither too far ahead nor too far back,” former India opener WV Raman said in a virtual conversation with The New Indian Express.
“The other thing is that he will have the advantage of playing during the powerplays – the ball is new and coming. So if he finds a gap he can hit boundaries again and again. And he is that kind of player by nature. ”

Raman also wants him not to think about his past failures and focus only on the upcoming matches. “People cannot directly expect continuity. (Virender) Sehwag took some time to sort things out. But Prithvi has to move the way he knows how to bat. He should not underestimate or give up the advantage of being an attacking batsman and match winner for the team. “
