Deepak Nehra, a resident of condemned Meham, who won the bronze medal in the 97 kg weight category of the Junior World Wrestling Championship held in Russia, reached the Delhi airport on Friday. He was welcomed with flowers and garlands. Mother fed churma of desi ghee to Deepak. While giving blessings, the father told Deepak that now the country has the hope of winning a medal from you in the Olympics, for which more hard work will have to be done.

After the reception at the airport, Deepak accompanied by coach Ajay went to his academy, the Shaheed Bhagat Singh International Sports Academy in Mirchpur village, Hisar. In the World Junior Wrestling Championship held in Russia, Deepak won the bronze medal by beating a Hungarian wrestler. Deepak’s age is only 19 years. He is representing the country in the category of 97 kg.
