We are about to witness some major, electrifying T20 action unfold as the second season of the Women’s Premier League. (WPL) will be getting underway on Friday, February 23. The first match of WPL 2024 will be played between Mumbai Indians Women and Delhi Capitals Women, the two teams that contested in the final of the last season. But ahead of the match, the opening ceremony witnessed one of the most electrifying performances by Sidharth Malhotra.
To begin with, Sidharth Malhotra made his dashing entrance to the remix version of the chartbuster song ‘Raata Lambiyan’ from Shershah. Donning a silver blazer, matching pants and a black t-shirt, when Sidharth took to the stage, the crowd couldn’t stop themselves from cheering. Not only that, the Indian Police Force actor grooved to Kaala Chashma and Let’s Naacho accompanied by some talented dancers.
Meanwhile, Kartik Aaryan along with other big Bollywood stars including Shah Rukh Khan, Shahid Kapoor, Sidharth Malhotra, Varun Dhawan, and Tiger Shroff also performed at the opening ceremony of the Women’s Premier League.
A total of five teams – Delhi Capitals, Mumbai Indians, UP Warriors, Royal Challengers Bangalore Women and Gujarat Giants will be competing at the Women’s Premier League 2024 for the trophy.
On the professional front, Sidharth Malhotra’s upcoming film Yodha has created a lot of anticipation among fans. After the teaser of the film was released recently, they have been eagerly waiting for more assets of the film to drop. Karan Johar has announced that the film’s new song, Zindagi Tere Naam, will be released on February 24.
Taking to his Instagram handle, Karan shared a teaser of the song with the caption, May we say…love is in the ‘air’ with the first song of Yodha – #ZindagiTereNaam coming out on 24th February!❤️.” The song will feature Sidharth with Rashii Khanna.
Speaking about the film, Karan said in a statement, “A special film like Yodha deserves a historic moment, one that makes waves through time. It’s an out-and-out actioner. At the same time, it’s edgy, it’s slick, and most importantly, it’s infused with the right amount of drama and thrill. Sid perfectly embodies the demeanour of an action hero. With YODHA, he has gone full throttle as the action hero of new India.”
Besides Sidharth, the film also stars Disha Patani and Raashii Khanna in lead roles. The film is touted to be a one-of-a-kind action entertainer. The film is scheduled to be released in theatres on March 15 this year.
