World’s largest bottle of whiskey sold at auction for $1.4 million – Henry’s Club

The world’s largest bottle of whiskey, called “The Intrepid”, has sold for nearly $1.4 million, According to auction house Leon & Turnbull.
Bottle delivered 5 feet 11 inches vertically Guinness world record in September 2021. It holds 82.16 US gallons or 311 liters. This equates to 444 standard bottles – enough to sour 5,287 whiskeys with 2 ounces of whiskey each.

The wine is a 1989 Macallan single malt, which spent 32 years maturing in oak casks at Macallan’s Scotland distillery before being bottled in 2021. The auction house says it is pale gold and has a sweet taste with notes of apple.

On Wednesday it was sold to an international collector, according to Leon and Turnbull.

The Intrepid project was created as a collaboration between Thailand-based investment company Fah Mai and Rosvin Holdings, a London-based firm that invests in whiskey and other spirits.

The auction house says the project’s founder, Daniel Monk, was inspired by his father’s “adventure, passion for exploration.” The label on the bottle features 11 explorers, including Ranph Fiennes and Robin Knox-Johnston.

Leon says the auction will support a number of charities, including Marie Curie and the Campaign Against Living Miserably (CALM).

The Giant Bottle isn’t the most expensive container of whiskey ever sold. he respects a 60 year old Macallan Sold in 2018 for $1.53 million.
