World’s first space-based film studio to launch by 2024

Space Entertainment Enterprise (SEE) claims to be the world’s first entertainment studio and multi-purpose arena in zero gravity. The company is co-producing Tom Cruise’s upcoming space film. According to Variety, SEE has unveiled plans to build a space station module by December 2024 that includes a sports and entertainment area as well as a content studio. Designated SEE-1, the module is intended to host films, television, music and sporting events. As well as artists, makers and creatives who want to create materials in low orbit, micro-gravity environments.

The facilities will enable the development, production, recording, broadcasting and live streaming of content. SEE intends to build its own content and program in modules as well as make it available to third parties. Axiom Space, which received NASA’s approval in January 2020 to build a commercial component of the International Space Station (ISS), will undertake construction of SEE-1.

The module will dock at Axiom’s commercial arm, named Axiom Station, which will also host other commercial ventures, including space tourism. After this, the Axiom station will separate from the ISS in 2028.

SEE, which was co-founded by entrepreneurs and producers Elena and Dmitry Lesnevsky in the UK, is currently planning a fundraising round. “SEE-1 is an incredible opportunity for humanity to move into a different realm and begin an exciting new chapter in space,” Dmitry and Elena Lesnevsky said in a statement.

“It will provide a unique, and accessible home to limitless entertainment possibilities in a venue filled with innovative infrastructure that will unleash a new world of creativity. With the creation of the worldwide leader Axiom Spaces this state-of-the-art, revolutionary facility, SEE – 1 will provide not only the first but the highest quality space infrastructure that will enable the expansion of the two trillion-dollar global entertainment industry into low-Earth orbit,” the statement continued.

“The world’s first commercial space station, the Axiom Station, is designed to be the basic infrastructure enabling a diverse economy in orbit,” said Michael Suffredini, president/CEO of Axiom Space. Adding a dedicated entertainment venue to the commercial capabilities of the Axiom station in the form of SEE-1 will expand the station’s utility as a platform for a global user base and highlight the range of opportunities the new space economy offers, Sufredini said.

“SEE-1 will demonstrate and take advantage of the space environment in an unprecedented way,” said Dr. Michael Bain, chief engineer of Axiom. “The inflatable module design provides for an uninterrupted pressurized volume of approximately six meters in diameter, which can be adapted for a range of activities – including a state-of-the-art media production capability that will capture and convey the experience of weightlessness as breathtakingly beautiful.” effect,” Dr Bain explained. Richard Johnson, COO of SEE, said:

“From Jules Verne to ‘Star Trek,’ science fiction entertainment has inspired millions of people around the world to dream about the future. From creating the next generation of entertainment venues in space to creating and creating incredible new content Countless doors open. These dreams do come true.”
