World Test champions New Zealand will host Bangladesh and South Africa at the end of the summer

New Zealand will play two Tests against both South Africa and Bangladesh in the home summer schedule, pushed back due to quarantine requirements in the country, New Zealand Cricket Said on Friday.

Bangladesh will play Tests at Mount Maunganui and Christchurch in early January, while South Africa will begin their series in mid-February at the Hagley Oval with the second Test in Wellington.

The Black Caps will host an Australia side in March as part of the Trans-Tasman Sea short format series, which will be followed by a Twenty20 and three ODIs against the Netherlands to conclude the home season in late April.

New Zealand’s home international season usually begins in December, but isolation requirements for the men’s team returning from a tour of India have forced a delay.

“This is not a straightforward process and we need to work through a number of unexpected changes before arrangements are finalized,” NZC chief executive David White said in a news release.

“Having said that, I am happy with the quantity and quality of international cricket played in the summer.”

The four men’s Tests will be part of New Zealand’s defense of the inaugural ICC World Test Championship title which they won earlier this year.

They are unbeaten in a home Test series since the 2016–17 tour of South Africa, the best New Zealand has ever made in the series in the longest format of the game.

New Zealand will face Australia in Sunday’s Twenty20 World Cup final in Dubai and the teams will reunite in a four-match series starting in Canberra with two matches in Wellington and one ending in Napier.

The Australia team currently cannot bear much resemblance to the UAE, however, they are also scheduled to tour Pakistan in March and April.

Cricket Australia said on Friday that the squad to face New Zealand will have players who do not require three Test matches in Pakistan.

The Women’s White Ferns team will play India in six shorter format matches as they complete their preparations to host the 50-over World Cup, which will take place across New Zealand from March 4 to April 3.
