  • Include lots of vegetables in your daily diet, as they help in faster elimination of toxins and blockages from the arteries. Some healthy choices are gourd (turiya), lauki (milk), ivy gourd (tendli), snake gourd (padwal), pumpkin, leafy vegetables, etc. and proteins like green gram (moong), lentils, tofu, millet, rice, barley , e.t.c
  • The diet should consist of 60% vegetables, 30% protein and 10% carbohydrates.
  • Avoid sour foods like tomatoes and citrus fruits like oranges, pineapples, lemons, grapefruits, vinegar of any kind, etc.
  • Eliminate heavy foods like refined flour and red meat. Since they are difficult to digest, they increase cholesterol in the body.
  • Completely eliminate wheat, fermented foods like yogurt, alcohol, cheese from your daily diet.
  • One can try this simple home remedy recipe by consuming it twice a day to maintain a healthy heart: Mix 1/2 tbsp ginger juice and 1/2 tbsp garlic juice with warm water.
  • Try to make lifestyle changes and walk for 30 to 45 minutes daily, which will improve heart function and also help in reducing cholesterol and weight.
