Work from home: 75% say they want to return to offices, shows survey

New Delhi: Ever since the COVID-19 pandemic began, people have been encouraged to stay at home instead of going out. In such a situation, many companies started promoting work from home for the employees. It has been almost 1.5 years since people worked from home. However, a recent survey has shown that most people now want to go back to their offices.

According to the survey conducted by JJL, 75 per cent people said that they now want to work from office. At the same time, they also want companies to give employees the choice whether they want to work from home or from their offices.

The survey revealed that there has been a decline in the number of people who believe that working from home is more productive than working from office. At the same time, people say that it is the responsibility of the employer to provide a safe work environment for the employees.

According to last year’s survey, 52 percent said they want to go to work in the office, a percentage that has now jumped to 75 percent in this year’s survey. Last year, 92 percent believed they should have the option to choose whether they want to work from their homes or offices, compared to 89 percent in this year’s survey.

In contrast, 62 per cent people have expressed their desire to work neither from home nor from office but from a completely different place. In this survey, 91 percent of respondents believed that they should be able to choose their own working hours, while 86 percent were in favor of a four-day work week.

Last year 80 per cent people believed that they would be able to do better while working from home, but this year’s survey has reduced the percentage of such people to 67 per cent. Last year 92 percent people were satisfied with their work, while the percentage of these people has come down to 85 percent.
