India recently beat West Indies twice in the tri-series ahead of the T20 World Cup, which will give them a physical advantage going into Wednesday’s encounter.

Meanwhile, Windies also started the T20 World Cup on a wrong note with a defeat against England Women. While skipper Mathews was confident ahead of India’s encounter and suggested that his team would play attacking cricket.

“We’re going to pick up a bat. The last game didn’t go too bad. We have a change. We had a tri-series. India are a strong side. We would like to play our brand of cricket and do better than them.”

While Indian skipper Harmanpreet Kaur believes that the surface for Wednesday’s encounter is better than Pakistan’s.

“We wanted to bat today. Last game we chased. The wicket is looking a bit better today as compared to the last match. We wanted to bat first. Smriti and Devika are back. We know them. We played a few matches before the tournament. Big day for all of us (when asked about the auction),” Harmanpreet said.
