Cooko with Komali is a popular cooking reality show that airs on Vijay TV, a leading Tamil entertainment network. The unique mix of cookery and comedy has made the show an audience favourite. A total of 10 contestants compete in various cooking challenges alongside comedians, sometimes known as comalis, on the show.
The show has a unique premise wherein the contestants are given a specific cooking task and have to prepare a dish in a given amount of time. Komalis, on the other hand, have the responsibility of entertaining the audience and judges as well as assisting the contenders in their cooking. The Komalis are recognized for their smart humour, amusing one-liners and spontaneous performances, which bring a fun touch to the acting.
A jury of renowned chefs judges the food of the entrants and Comalis based on various characteristics such as taste, presentation and invention. Popular chefs on the panel include Damu, Venkatesh Bhat and the show’s host VJ Rakshan.
