Panaji: Blaming the BJP for trying to destroy Goa’s unique identity, the Congress on Sunday said that Rai vote It should be celebrated and recognized as a turning point in the history of Goa. Congress said that after the formation of the next government, it will give Opinion same polling day importance as Liberation Day.
“Goa has a unique history and language and the Congress respects it. Opinion polls also teach us to respect differences and come back together after a decision. Everyone should recognize today as a turning point in the history of Goa,” Congress Goa desk in-charge Dinesh Gundu Rao said.
Rao said the Congress has always respected and maintained the unique identity of each state.
“Our leaders Purushottam Kakodkar, Jack Sequeira and others fought to protect the identity of Goa. Bring Congress to power and I assure you that Opinion Poll Day will be celebrated in a very big way,” said former BJP minister Michael Lobo.
Lobo and Rao said that opinion polls need to be recalled extensively.
