WI Vs PAK: Babar Azam’s one-man show gives Pakistan a respectable second innings lead

Pakistan vs West Indies: The first of the 2-match Test series is in balance at the end of Day 3. Pakistan have a lead of 124 runs which might not look like much, but in terms of the game, it is a similar looking score considering Pakistan still have 5 wickets to play for. All day 3 position was not the same. Pakistan had a lead of only 29 runs when Fawad Alam was dismissed for a duck and their score was 65/4.

Babar Azam’s unbeaten 54 off 139 balls has kept Pakistan’s hopes alive in the Test match. Babar has Faheem Ashraf playing with him and Yasir Shah and the rest tail to follow. With 2 days left, this test match can go either way.

Earlier, West Indies won the toss and called Pakistan to bat first. Pakistan scored 217 runs in the first innings where Fawad Alam was the top scorer with 56 runs. Later, the Windies scored 253 runs and took a 36-run lead in the second innings.

Credit to Kemar Roach and Jayden Seals, West Indies managed to pick up five crucial Pakistan wickets but Babar Azam’s resilience has been a matter of concern for the West Indies bowlers. Technically, Babar is a good player who can cross boundaries as well as defend, thus making it difficult for any bowler to take his wicket once it is set.

Babar will have to play a little longer on the fourth day as the current lead of 124 may not be enough for a good Windies batting line-up.
