Bangladesh on the verge of sealing ODI series 2-0

All-rounder Keemo Paul’s unbeaten 25 runs and a last-wicket partnership of 22 runs with Guyana’s Gudakesh Moti at least took West Indies past the 100-run mark.

West Indies bowled out their second lowest score at home at 108 for 108 as Bangladesh’s spinners wreaked havoc, taking 8 of them.

Keemo Paul was the only batsman to cross the 20-run mark as West Indies lost wickets at regular intervals.

Off-spinner Mehdi Hasan Miraj took four for 29 while slow left-armer Nasum Ahmed took three for 19 as the home team’s batsmen once again appeared on a pitch in the sea that helped the spinners immensely. Got it.

West Indies, thrashed by six wickets in the first match at the same venue on Sunday, tried to build a more stable platform after being put to bat by Bangladesh captain Tamim Iqbal.

However, the slide started when Mossadek Hossain’s spin to dismiss Kyle Meyers after an opening stand of 27 in the 11th over reduced the hosts to 86 for nine in the 31st over.

All-rounder Keemo Paul’s unbeaten 25 runs and a last-wicket partnership of 22 runs with Guyana’s Gudakesh Moti at least took West Indies past the 100-run mark.

However, it leaves Moti and fellow frontline spinner Akeel Hossein with a formidable challenge to match the success of their Bangladeshi counterparts and prevent their opponents from extending their ODI winning streak to 10 matches against the West Indies.
