WI vs AUS: West Indies beat Australia by 16 runs Evin Lewis; Series 4-1

West Indies stand-in captain Nicholas Pooran won the first toss of the series and decided to bat against Australia in the final Twenty20 match on Friday. then opener Evin Lewis took over.

Player of the match Lewis scored 79 off 34 balls, including 9 sixes, to lead the Caribbean side on their way to a fourth victory in the five-match series. Despite the late collapse, West Indies posted their highest score of the series – 199 for eight.

Australia led the home team to a 16-run win with 183-9. The visitors looked strong in reply as they lost two wickets for five runs, including a brilliant diving catch by Fabian Allen at long-on to remove the captain. Aaron Finch for 34.

Andre Russell and Sheldon Cottrell took three wickets each for West Indies.

Australia, who won the fourth match after losing the first three, made four changes. Leg-spinner Mitchell Swepson was also named for his first game on the tour, while Josh Hazlewood and Josh Phillippe returned to the squad. Mitchell Starc was rested and Riley Meredith, Dan Christian and ashton turner were also left out.

Philip opened and got out after scoring 1 run in four balls.

The teams will now play three One Day Internationals in Bridgetown, Barbados. The first match is to be held on Tuesday.
