AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi hit back at BJP leaders and alleged the party was trying to divert attention from the mismanagement of Covid.

With assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh months away, however, the parties have already started gunning each other on various issues. All India Majlis-e-Ittehad-ul-Muslimeen (AIMIM) chief Asaduddin Owaisi on Thursday visited Dargah Sharif in Bahraich to pay homage to the medieval Ghaznweed general, Ghazi Syed Salar Masood or Ghazi Mian.

Owaisi’s visit to the dargah has now triggered huge war of words between Uttar Pradesh’s ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Suheldev Bhartiya Samaj Party (SBSP). Owaisi’s AIMIM and Om Prakash Rajbhar SBSP are part of the Bhagidari Sankalp Morcha in UP.

BJP has accused Owaisi and SBSP of hurting the sentiments of the people. UP Minister Anil Rajbhar said that the AIMIM and SBSP alliance is an insult to the backward Rajbhar community.

He said, “Owaisi’s visit to the dargah is an insult to the 11th century Maharaja Suheldev, who is said to have defeated and killed Masood in a battle at Bahraich in 1034 AD.”

The minister said that the BJP government is working to restore the pride of Suheldev by building a memorial and installing an idol at Chitaura in Bahraich.

“The leaders of the Bhagidari Sankalp Morcha have hurt the sentiments of the Hindu community that respects Maharaja Suheldev.

BJP MLA from Meerut’s Sardhana assembly seat, Sangeet Som also targeted Owaisi and Om Prakash Rajbhar fiercely on this issue.

Owaisi, Rajbhar hit back

SBSP chief Om Prakash Rajbhar said BJP leaders were trying to create a rift between AIMIM and SBSP over the issue of Maharaja Suheldev and Salar Masood as they feared that Other Backward Class (OBC) voters would not support the BJP in the assembly elections. do.

He said, “SBSP will fight the assembly elections in collaboration with AIMIM. We will work on backward-Muslim and Dalit unity to win the assembly elections.”

Owaisi also hit back at BJP leaders and alleged that the party was trying to divert attention from the state government’s mismanagement of Covid by raising irrelevant issues.

“We are not circus clowns but ring masters and everyone will dance to our tunes,” the Hyderabad MP said.

Owaisi said that the AIMIM will contest the 2022 assembly elections in collaboration with the SBSP-led Bhagidari Sankalp Morcha, which will highlight the failure of the BJP government in fulfilling the promises made during the 2017 assembly elections.
