White House says no change to mask mandate – Times of India

Washington: white House says there has been no decision to replace the Covid-19 guidance on wearing face masks. Press Secretary Jen Psaki insisted on Thursday that Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, not the White House, makes decisions about public health.
Saki says any change in guidance will come CDC.
Current guidance is that fully vaccinated individuals are not required to wear face masks, while those who have not been vaccinated should continue to wear them.
The White House and public health officials are discussing whether to update the mask guidance on the highly contagious Delta variant due to an increase in COVID-19 infections.
CDC Director Rochelle Valensky said at a briefing on Thursday that his agency is always reviewing the data, but the recommendations have not changed.
