New Delhi: The age of Twitter’s iconic legacy blue ticks has officially come to an end on April 20. The deadline to remove the legacy verified checkmark on Twitter expires tomorrow. The microblogging site has removed the checkmark from the accounts of non-blue users. Several business leaders have lost the coveted blue tick from April 21, 2023, including former Tata group chairman Ratan Tata, Uday Kotak, and more. This comes after the legacy blue tick expires on April 20, as announced by Twitter.

Not all leaders have lost the blue tick as many of them have retained the tick for Twitter blue subscription.

Twitter had earlier announced that it would remove all legacy blue checkmarks from non-blue users’ accounts from April 20, 2023.

Twitter launched its monthly-subscription plan ‘Twitter Blue’ that offers a range of benefits including the coveted blue tick. Twitter Blue subscription price in India is Rs 650 for web and Rs 900 per month for iOS and Android.

Along with verified blue ticks, it offers users many benefits including editing tweets, posting longer videos, having fewer ads, etc.
