Punjab Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi during an interview to NDTV on the recent security lapse in the state said there was no threat to Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
“It is a conspiracy to defame Punjab.
“The maximum number of people in the freedom struggle are from Punjab. Therefore, it is wrong to accuse Punjab and Punjabis of such acts,” the chief minister said.
On allegations of threat to the life of the PM, Mr Channi said, “These are baseless statements, which are being given as an attempt to defame Punjab and destabilize the state.”
