Tamil star Dhanush’s fans are eagerly waiting for the release of his next film. Currently, he is working on the action-period drama film Captain Miller directed by Arun Matheswaran. The final leg of the film was expected to wrap up in a few more weeks, but then came to an abrupt halt. Captain Miller was being shot primarily on a set built in the forest area of Tenkasi district (Tamil Nadu).

The film’s team had earlier faced a problem in detonating a heavy bomb in a forest area falling under the Kalakad Mundanthurai Tiger Reserve (KMTR) buffer zone. At present, the shooting of the film has been temporarily suspended due to the district administration not getting permission from the fire and forest department. Now Captain Miller’s producer TG Thiagarajan has exclusively talked about this with News18 Tamil. He also said that he has not violated any rule.

“The shooting location of Captain Miller film is not owned by the forest department. We set up and shot in 85 acres from 9 Pvt. That 85 acres is not cultivable land. We have taken permission from the panchayat and the police to shoot at that location,” said TG Thiagarajan.

He further added, “Also, the shooting was done with proper permissions. This problem has arisen on the instigation of one person. I don’t want to tell his name. Officers have searched the area. The shooting of Captain Miller will surely start with good results. Activists are demanding to shoot in Tamil Nadu.”

MDMK Keezhapavur union councilor Rama Udayasuriyan had earlier told a portal that the film crew had illegally constructed a wooden bridge across the Chenkulam canal near Mattalambarai village in the conservation area of Kalakad Mundanthurai Tiger Reserve (KMTR) , damaging its shores and disturbing wildlife.

The violation was discovered when Public Works Department (PWD) officials inspected the canal, which supplies water to around 15 ponds from Old Courtallam Falls. The counselor said that the film unit had built a mega set in the KMTR buffer zone without permission.

The matter progresses or gets resolved soon, we will have to wait and see
