When Virat Kohli paid Rs 3 lakh to watch Kapil Sharma’s comedy show on internet data pack

There have been many such occasions in the history of India when the worlds of cricket and entertainment have become one. Eminent personalities from the field and films often come together in various public forums. One such popular Indian stage is the show of stand-up comedian Kapil Sharma. The television presenter, who is also an actor, has hosted popular names from all walks of life in her shows.

Back in 2014, India skipper Virat Kohli came on the show as a guest and revealed several interesting anecdotes. Several celebrities from the cricket fraternity like Kapil Dev, Sunil Gavaskar, Mahendra Singh Dhoni, Virender Sehwag, Harbhajan Singh and Yuvraj Singh have let their hair down on the show.

In a throwback clip that has resurfaced online, Kohli had said that he “enjoys watching Kapil’s show”. He further said that Kohli and the team sit together and watch Kapil Sharma’s show in their spare time.

However, this business once burned a huge hole in the pocket of the cricketer. Kohli was getting bored during the Sri Lanka tour and decided to watch an episode to pass the time. He thought he was using airport Wi-Fi, but in reality he used his mobile’s cellular data, which cost him a bomb.

The cricketer realized only when his brother called him and told that the phone data limit has been exceeded. Kohli’s brother also revealed that he was billed Rs 3 lakh due to cellular data usage. Recalling the experience, the cricketer had said that he has no regrets about the expenditure.

During the show, Kapil had asked Kohli a question about his fellow cricketers and his rumored lady love, now wife Anushka Sharma. The batsman revealed that where Rohit Sharma sleeps the most, Ishant Sharma is the most eater. He further said that Mohammed Shami is another player who can sleep for hours together. Kohli also entertained the audience by imitating Bollywood actor Anil Kapoor.

Currently, Kohli and Team India are in England for the current Test series. On the other hand, The Kapil Sharma Show, which has been on a hiatus, is expected to return on August 21. The Bell Bottom team led by Akshay Kumar is likely to be the first guest on the show.
