Naga Chaitanya’s ex-wife Samantha Ruth Prabhu, had once revealed he had seen her from “nothing”. During a light-hearted 2019 chat on Lakshmi Manchu’s Feet Up With The Stars (Telugu), Samantha had made many big revelations.

During the interview, Samantha had kind words for then-husband Naga Chaitanya. Calling him ‘husband material’ she had said, “Chay has seen me from nothing. I remember I didn’t have money to make a call to my mother from the US. I took his phone and made a call home. Chay has seen me from that to this, so how can it be anybody else, right?”

In another interview, Samantha had said how Chaitanya handles success, failure and happiness. “He’s not extreme. He is very sorted and level-headed.” In another, she had said, “He has been the same person since the time I met him. He hasn’t changed.”

Samantha Ruth Prabhu and Naga Chaitanya, who got married in 2017, announced their separation in October 2021. Despite their split, they both spoke highly of each other and said that they have a lot of mutual respect given their decade-long friendship. Post-separation, rumour mills were abuzz about Naga Chaitanya’s new relationship with actress Sobhita Dhulipala. Although neither Chaitanya nor Sobhita publicly commented on their relationship status, their photos together fueled speculation.

However, earlier this month, Naga Chaitanya and Sobhita Dhulipala officially announced their engagement. The moment, captured beautifully in a series of photos, was testament to the couple’s happiness and love for each other. Naga Chaitanya’s father, Nagarjuna, shared the photos on X and wrote, “We are delighted to announce the engagement of our son, Naga Chaitanya, to Sobhita Dhulipala, which took place this morning at 9:42 a.m.!! We are overjoyed to welcome her into our family. Congratulations to the happy couple! Wishing them a lifetime of love and happiness. God bless! 8.8.8 – A beginning of infinite love.”
