The third season of the highly popular web series Panchayat released recently. Just like the previous two seasons, it has received critical acclaim. One of the many actors who have made the series memorable is Faisal Malik, who plays Prahlad cha. Before he shot to fame with Panchayat, Faisal had been acting in small roles in different films and series. He got the chance to work with Anurag Kashyap by appearing in a small role in Gangs of Wasseypur. In a recent interview, Faisal Malik reveals he lost his job right after meeting Amitabh Bachchan.

Faisal Malik recalled the time he accompanied Anurag Kashyap to Amitabh Bachchan’s house to discuss a show. He recalled keeping his work aside out of excitement and right away presenting his copy to Amitabh for an autograph. He also praised Big B’s hospitality, saying that the flow of food to the table was seamless. He particularly recalled how he thought Amitabh Bachchan would not be able to eat sesame laddus because of his age but the senior actor proved him wrong by eating two right in front of him. “I thought he is lying about his age; he is still very much young,” Faisal said.

He also praised Amitabh’s attention to detail and memory as he pointed out a mistake on a particular page on the script as it was being narrated by a person. The legendary actor had byhearted all 120 pages of the script. Faisal Malik recounted losing his job after meeting Amitabh, stating, “Big B asked me, ‘When do you think we should shoot this?’ I candidly replied, ‘Sir, we shouldn’t shoot this now. We should wait six months.’ After the meeting, as we walked downstairs, I was informed, ‘You are no longer working on this project. You need to leave,’ simply because I spoke the truth.”

Panchayat Season 3 is currently streaming on Amazon Prime Video.
