When Nora Fatehi moved to Mumbai, she had to face innumerable challenges to survive in the city of dreams.

Bollywood actress Nora Fatehi is known for her exceptional dance performances and charm. She made her acting debut with the film Roar: Tigers of the Sundarbans. Her claim to fame came with her item songs in Baahubali: The Beginning, Kick 2 and Temper. The road to stardom was not at all an easy one for Nora Fatehi. She is originally from Canada. So, when Nora Fatehi moved to Mumbai, she had to face innumerable challenges to survive in the city of dreams. In an earlier interview, she spoke about her struggling days. She said, “I came to India with only Rs 5,000 in my pocket.” She shared that she moved in with nine people in a 3 BHK house. Nora Fatehi said, “I lived with nine psychopaths in a 3 BHK apartment, where I shared the room with two other girls. During my stay there, I used to think, ‘What have I got myself into?’ I am still traumatised.”

Nora Fatehi further revealed that she survived on just bread and eggs at times. She said that the agency she worked for would deduct a lot of money and pay her less. “It was a rough time. I needed therapy. The struggle was really bad,” she added. Nora Fatehi also said that the agency would charge them a commission and deduct money for even breathing. Some of the agencies exploit like this and there are no laws to protect them, she shared.

In a recent interview, few months back, Nora Fatehi shared how she feels she would want to make a documentary and talk about how “this random girl named Nora, belonging to the most random place in the world, and who’s not even Indian came to Bollywood, assimilated, learned the language and broke barriers”. “People told her that she won’t be able to make it but she made it happen and became a global star. This is my story. I think my life is documentary-worthy,” Nora Fatehi said.

Nora Fatehi was seen in the film Madgaon Express this year, which starred actors like Pratik Gandhi and Divyendu. She also starred in Vidyut Jammwal’s action film, Crakk – Jeetegaa Toh Jiyegaa.
