When is Hariyali Amavasya in the month of Sawan? Know the importance and auspicious time

Hariyali Amavasya 2021 Date: The month of Shravan or Sawan has been given special religious importance according to Hinduism. This year the month of Sawan has started from 25th July. Sawan is considered to be the month of Lord Shiva and he is specially worshiped in this month.

Significance of Sawan month in Chaturmas

The month of Sawan is the first month of Chaturmas. Lord Vishnu sleeps in Chaturmas and hands over the reins of the earth to Lord Shiva. Shravan Amavasya is also known as Hariyali Amavasya or Sawan Amavasya. Hariyali Amavasya is considered to be the best date for Pitru Puja, Pind Daan, Tarpan and Shradh. New seeds and saplings can be planted on this day. Planting saplings on this day is considered auspicious.
