Known as the cutest couple in B-Town, Shah Rukh Khan and his wife Gauri Khan have been enjoying each other’s company for more than three decades now. However, there was a time in their relationship when Gauri had made up her mind to leave Shahrukh.
Gauri Khan made this confession in an episode of Koffee With Karan in 2005. Sharing a sofa with Hrithik Roshan’s ex, Sussanne Khan, Gauri had opened up about the initial phase of her relationship with Shah Rukh.
When asked how she met her boyfriend, Gauri revealed that she was just “14 and a half”. Further, Karan shared that Gauri had no other relationship and even thought of parting ways with Shah Rukh once. Admitting this, Gauri said, “I was just very young, in college. I thought maybe it was too young for us to decide anything about marriage.”
Gauri confessed that she took a short break to “do her job” and spend more time with her friends and socializing with people. “He was too possessive of me,” Gauri said, adding that she could not handle it. Gauri also said that she wanted her place but later “went back to him.”
Not only Gauri but Shah Rukh has also confessed that he was very possessive about his girlfriend. In earlier interviews, Shah Rukh had expressed that he did not like Gauri talking to other men as this was his first relationship. Furthermore, the king of romance had also revealed that Gauri turned down his proposal as her parents also did not like her much, as reported by The Indian Express.
Reportedly, Shah Rukh Khan proposed to Gauri again when she came back from the relationship after a short break. But, the Bollywood star’s offer was again turned down. Later, when Shah Rukh’s mother died, Gauri finally agreed to marry him. The couple tied the knot in October 1991 and now share three children together, Suhana, Aryan and AbRam Khan.
