During an interview, Darsheel Safary shared how he faced bullying during his school days because of his distinctive teeth.

Darsheel Safary celebrates his 27th birthday today. The talented actor is known for his unforgettable portrayal in Aamir Khan’s Taare Zameen Par. In the film, he depicted the struggles of a dyslexic child, Ishaan Awasthi, whose daily challenges went unnoticed by his strict parents. Both fellow students and teachers made fun of him in the film. However, once during an interview, the actor revealed that in real life too, he faced bullying during his school days, primarily because of his distinctive teeth. Despite the pain it caused, the actor believes that these experiences ultimately shaped him into the person and actor he is today.

In an old Interview with Hindustan Times, Darsheel shared, “In my personal life, away from acting too, I have had these things. I’ve been made fun of for my height, my teeth, and everything. My teeth were like 1 kilometer out. It all happens for a reason. All that happened and then I got the film because of those teeth. The way I look at it is that it is a learning thing. That is how you don’t get affected.”

In the same interview, Darsheel shared a personal insight about his childhood, revealing that he used to be extremely sensitive to everything around him. He also spoke about how as an actor, you have to learn to block out some of the criticism but still be able to distinguish what’s real. “If they say ‘Darsheel is being lazy’, that is true, and I have to work on it. But if they say ‘Darsheel doesn’t like acting’, that’s untrue,” he added.

Recently, Darsheel surprised his fans by reuniting with actor Aamir Khan. The duo came together for an ad promoting an energy drink a few days ago. Darsheel shared a series of pictures from the ad featuring Aamir Khan and captioned it, “It is Aamir’s multiverse, and we’re all just living in it. 3 days to go.”

In Taare Zameen Par, Aamir Khan portrayed the character of Ram Shankar Nikumbh, an art teacher at New Era High School and Ishaan’s tutor. The film also featured Tisca Chopra, Vipin Sharma, and Tanay Chheda in key roles.

Darsheel has also starred in multiple projects, including Bumm Bumm Bole, Zokkomon, Midnight’s Children, Kutch Express, and more.
