Actor couple Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt’s pre-wedding celebrations have started from today. Earlier today, Ranbir’s family including mother Neetu Kapoor, sister Riddhima Kapoor Sahni, niece Samara Sahni and brother-in-law Bharat Sahni were seen arriving at Vastu, where the pre-wedding festivities are taking place. The morning Ganesh Puja was followed by a Mehndi ceremony, which was also attended by Alia’s father Mahesh Bhatt and sister Pooja.
While both the families have remained silent about the wedding, we bring you an example from 2014 when Alia’s father, filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt along with nephew and actor Emraan Hashmi appeared in an episode of Koffee With Karan season four.
When the show’s host Karan Johar asked Mahesh about Alia’s love life, the filmmaker warned that no one would even think of dating Alia, jokingly saying, “I’ll keep her shut.”
Karan also asked Mahesh his opinion about actor Ranbir at that time. In his signature candor, Bhatt had said, “She is a ladies man.” Also, Emraan had advised Ranbir to “stop playing the female male stereotype.”
During the chat, Mahesh had also said that he wanted to skip the screening of Ranbir’s 2011 film Rockstar. He also called the actor’s 2012 film Barfi as the most overrated film.
Earlier in the day, filmmaker and one of Ranbir’s closest friends, Ayan Mukerji shared a glimpse from his upcoming film, Brahmastra, in which the couple is seen romancing each other. Sharing the video of the song Kesaria, Ayan wrote, “For Ranbir and for Alia! And… they are going to start this holy journey very soon! Ranbir and Alia… my closest and dearest people in this world… my happy place, and my safe place… who have added everything to my life… and totally and selflessly to our film…! We just had to share a piece of their meeting, from our film, from our song Kesaria, to celebrate them… as a gift to them, and everyone!!”
Though there is no official confirmation of the wedding date, several sources have claimed that the lovebirds are all set to tie the knot on April 14 in an intimate ceremony. Ranbir and Alia will apparently also throw a party for their close friends and family in Mumbai on April 17.
