New Delhi: Meta-owned messaging platform WhatsApp is reportedly working on a new “Lock Chats” feature for Android beta that will allow users to lock chats and keep them hidden. As per WABetaInfo report, this new feature will improve the privacy of the users as it will help the users to lock their most private chats within the contact or group info of the chat.

The feature also helps keep media private by ensuring that photos and videos sent in locked chats aren’t automatically saved to the device’s gallery.
The report states that the ability to lock chats is currently under development and is expected to be released in a future update to the application.
Meanwhile, on Friday it was reported that the messaging platform is rolling out a new text editor experience to some beta testers on Android Beta.
