WhatsApp is reportedly working on a new feature that will remove the time limit for deleting a message from a chat. The ‘delete for everyone’ option introduced in 2017 initially had a time limit of seven seconds which was later increased to 4,096 seconds (about an hour) in 2018. There is no clarity on the messaging platform owned by Meta (formerly Facebook). There was a time limit for deleting messages at first, but things are clearly changing. It also appears that when the update rolls out, users will also be able to delete existing messages sent three months ago. However, the updated ‘Delete for Everyone’ is still under development, and there may be modifications to the final version. WhatsApp has not yet officially confirmed this development.
