WhatsApp developing feature allowing users to set duration for pinned messages, details here!

New DelhiWhatsApp is working on a new feature that will allow users to set a time limit for pinned messages in both group and individual chats. This means users will be able to choose how long a pinned message will remain pinned. As of now, the update has been shown to a few beta testers and is still rolling out. In future, the company can roll out this feature to all users. The information about this update has been shared by Wabetainfo, a website that monitors the development of WhatsApp.

Under this new feature, the company will give users three options to pin messages for 24 hours, 7 days or 30 days. This feature will be useful for office groups and family groups where important messages can be pinned for everyone. Notably, the company is also working on the PIN message feature for individual chats, which will be rolled out to all users soon. Currently the Pin Message feature is not available on the app.

Recently Launched Features:
WhatsApp recently rolled out a new feature for users that allows them to silence calls from unknown numbers. By keeping this feature enabled, you will not be disturbed by calls coming from unknown numbers and the call will automatically be silent. You will be able to see silent calls in your call log. To enable this feature, you have to go to WhatsApp Settings.

Work in progress on other features:
WhatsApp is also working on features like username, call back and screen sharing which are being tested by some beta testers. The username feature is especially important because it enhances user privacy and allows users to add others to their contacts without sharing their phone numbers.
