Prashant Kishor likely to join Congress soon.

Poll strategist Prashant Kishor, who was asked to join the Congress, met top party officials to prepare a detailed roadmap for the 2024 elections. During his presentation, Prashant Kishor said, the party should focus on 370 seats and Congress should fight alone in UP, Bihar and Odisha.

He said that in Tamil Nadu, West Bengal and Maharashtra, the Congress should fight in alliance. Sources said that senior Congress leader Rahul Gandhi agreed with Prashant Kishor’s words.

Sources said the poll strategist would join the Congress in the coming days but he has so far sought a specific post in the party.

Congress’ KC Venugopal said: “Prashant Kishor has given a detailed presentation on the election strategy for 2024 to the Congress chief. The plan presented by him will be looked into by a group constituted by the Congress chief and the group will submit a report within a week. To the party chief for the final decision.”

Asked Congress leader KC Venugopal whether Prashant Kishor will work as a strategist in the Congress party or will join the party, he says, “Every detail will be intimated within a week.”

Interestingly, only a few months back, Kishor had criticized the Congress leadership. In a candid take on Rahul Gandhi, Kishor had said, “The space represented by the Congress is important, but its leadership is not a “divine right of an individual”, especially when it has lost 90 per cent of the elections in the last 10 years. “
