Helmed by Nithilan Saminathan, Vijay Sethupathi-starrer Maharaja is one of the much-anticipated films that marks the actor’s 50th film.

Tamil star Vijay Sethupathi needs no introduction. He is a man full of talents whose on-screen dominance captures the hearts of millions across India. His versatility in portraying diverse roles made him one of the most-loved actors in the industry, and once again, the renowned actor is next set to deliver one of the much-anticipated films, Maharaja.

The actor’s 50th film is scheduled to release on June 14. Ahead of release, he is on a promotional spree for Maharaja, and the team recently addressed the press and media in Chennai on June 9.

While addressing the media persons, Vijay Sethupathi said, “I am very happy that this film, directed by Nithilan Swaminathan, is my 50th film. I have acted in 50 films. In my film journey, I take success and failure equally. I also look at reviews in the same way. You don’t know that I have not received my full payment for many films I have acted in. There were check bounces, salary was withheld, and others.”

During the press meet, he also turned emotional, recalling the toughest phase of his life. He revealed that he got his accountant job before he entered the light-camera-action world. Vijay Sethupathi initially thought his life would be transformed after getting a job in Dubai, but it didn’t go as expected. The actor struggled hard to fulfil the basic needs of his family.

Helmed by Nithilan Saminathan, Vijay Sethupathi starrer Maharaja is one of the much-anticipated action dramas boasting an ensemble cast including Vijay Sethupathi, Natty, Anurag Kashyap, Bharathiraja, Abhirami, Singampuli, Mamta Mohandas, Aruldoss, Munishkanth, and others. The movie is touted to be an intense drama, and its first-look poster featuring an injured Sethupathi in blood-soaked clothes sitting on a chair with a sickle in his hand proves it all.

Meanwhile, Vijay Sethupathi just finished shooting for P. Aarumugakumar’s Ace, which starred Rukmini Vasanth opposite him. Other than this, the actor has several projects on his plate, such as the highly anticipated Viduthalai: Part 2 starring Vetrimaaran and Soori. Vijay Sethupathi will essay the role of Perumal Vaathiyaar in the film’s sequel, while Vetrimaaran will take over the director’s chair again. The makers have planned to release Viduthalai 2 on Diwali 2024.
