Apart from this, one demerit point has also been added to his disciplinary record. It was the first offense by the Seals in a 24-month period.

The incident happened during the 70th over of Pakistan’s first innings, when Hasan Ali was dismissed after Seals used inappropriate language towards Ali, which could have provoked his aggressive reaction.

Richie Richardson of the Emirates ICC Elite Panel of Match Referees imposed the ban, which was confirmed by the ICC Cricket Operations Department in accordance with the COVID-19 Interim Game Rules.

Seals pleaded guilty to the crime and accepted the proposed sanction, so there was no need for a formal hearing. The allegations were leveled by on-field umpires Gregory Brathwaite, Joel Wilson, Nigel Duguid and TV umpire Leslie Reifer.

Level 1 violations carry a minimum fine of an official reprimand, a fine of 50 percent of a player’s match fee, and a maximum fine of one or two demerit points.
